Dear deviantART user

I'm Tijl Kindt, also known as Quicky. I uploaded my first photograph to deviantART already a few months ago, but I didn't do anything further until I met my girl friend in Rome (see below), =IsobelMoon. She has been on deviantART for a long time, so I thought, "Why not start uploading some more as well?".

My main artistic interest is photography, spoon-fed by my mom when we were on vacation in the past. We still have thousands of slides lying in the attic at home. I started photograpying myself about 3 years ago. Earlier this year I bought my first digital camera, a Canon EOS 350D, otherwise known as a Rebel XT in the U.S. I feel digital photography has allowed me to be more experimental and learn faster than I could with my analog camera, so I'm really happy with this purchase.

As for subjects, I prefer photography of the organic world: landscapes, trees, etc. But also architecture is something I like photographing, as well as the occasional spontaneous portrait.

So, recently I've been uploading some of my best work from the past few years, as well as a lot of pictures from my trips to Rome and Finland in June and July. I went to Rome on a Summer School in Astrophysics, where I followed classes about brown dwarfs and exoplanets within the summer residence of Pope Benedict XVI. I went to Finland on holiday to visit a friend of mine who married recently and to go hiking for 7 days in Southern Lapland.
